A Case of Gogenital Sallvai, Fistula Arising from Accessory Parotid Gland

Abstract
Salivary fistulas are classified as congenital and acquired case on the basis of their pathogenesis. Most of the fistulas belong to the latter group and arise secondarily to trauma or inflammation. Congenital salivary fistulas are very rare.
Futhermore,
although accessory parotid glands drained into the main parotid duct are often occurred, it is extremely rare that accessory parotid glands has a separate duct without connecting with the main parotid duct.
We experienced a case of congenital salivary fistula arising from accessory parotid gland. A five-year-old girl presented with a congenital fistular opening on the skin of the right cheek. We confirmed the fistula arose from an accessory parotid
gland
and its duct was unrelated with the main parotid duct. The fistula and accessory parotid gland were surgically excised without complication. (Korean J Otolaryngol 38:10, 1995)
